Q. What's this email verification I get an alert about when trying to add a business?
A. The first time you enter a email and password, an account is created for you and an email is sent to your email address. Go check your email, and click the verification link... then come back and submit your business again. As long as you verified, the business should be accepted!

Q. I just entered a business name with a comma, ampersand, or other weird character in it but it doesn't display correctly!
A. Well, now you need to email me with the correct business name at jay@backalley.net, and try to avoid using those characters in the future.

Q. I just entered a business name with an address, but your dumb site won't add it!
A. Try google to get a correctly formed address, and double check your spelling. Sometimes directions (North/South/East/West) need to be spelled out. If all else fails, shoot me an email at jay@backalley.net.
If we really want to get drastic, someone (and by someone I mean someone YOU KNOW) with a GPS device can go to the location then send me the proper latitude and longitude to get it added. I am afraid that I cannot afford to travel the countryside taking GPS readings. If you would like to sponsor me, shoot an email to jay@backalley.net

Q. My marker is in the wrong place!
A.Immediately after you add a new marker, you get ONE chance to drag it to the proper location. Drag it, and drop the shadow 'X' on the correct location and the database should update. If you have any problems and need a marker adjusted, just email jay@backalley.net and explain the city/state and how the marker needs adjusted and I will get it moved for you!

Q.I want to moderate for my state!
A.I have instituted a new moderator system, and if you have added at least 10 locations for your state, I will be happy to grant you moderator access and let you adjust markers until your heart is content!

Q. What are the Custom latitude and longitude boxes for?
A. Eventually, if your submissions have enough positive review, you will be able to "adjust" your markers and update your listings. Those boxes will come into play at that time. Now they have been removed since you can drag the marker after adding it.
